The Bishop and the Piper; Hamline University: The inspiration for the Hamline University painting came from two
primary sources. First, my hometown is Roseville and as a In the Hamline painting, as with many of my paintings, I hope
to capture the human emotion of being in a specific setting. The aesthetic interpretation of the campus, which is important,
does not direct the course of the painting. While I was contemplating this piece I ultimately wanted to portray how a student
feels walking among the landscaping and architecture. I envision the students as proud and fortunate to be in such a gorgeous
academic setting.
